This is a bike ride with a lot of water contact. The tour takes you past the wetlands at Marieberg’s beach meadows, crosses several of the river arms and takes you out to one of Vänerstranden’s untouched rock outcrops.

You also cycle on pleasant dirt roads through the small-scale farming landscape of Dingelsundet. Here and there there are great opportunities to rest next to a beach and maybe try your luck at fishing.

The Jakobsberg Bridge, completed in 1929, is the middle and oldest of the three road bridges that connect the Värmland archipelago municipality of Hammarö with the municipality of Karlstad and the rest of the Swedish road network. The bridge is alternately one-way and located near Karlstad’s old airport, Sommarro golf club, Mariebergsskogen and Central Hospital in Karlstad. On the Hammarö side, the bridge connects to the older Karlstadsvägen south towards Vidöåsen and Skoghall, and a short distance north to Länsväg 236 (Hammaröleden).
